Arsenal keep title bid alive, Chelsea in endless suffer

LONDON – Arsenal still hold a chance to win the English Premier League season 2022/23 title after they defeated Chelsea 3-1 at Emirates Stadium in matchday 34.

The London derby on Wednesday night ended with an expected result, as the Gunners dominated the clash with three goals in the first half.

Double scores from captain Martin Odegaard and another goal from Gabriel Jesus helped the home team to get their first win in the last five EPL games.

The visiting team collected their second goal in their last eight matches from Noni Madueke in the 65th minute, but it didn’t stop them from another loss.

After the victory, Arsenal returned to first place in the EPL table temporarily, two points ahead of Manchester City but two more games played.

Chelsea’s 6 losses in a row

After the London derby, Chelsea had suffered six consecutive losses and failed to win in their last nine matches in all competitions.

Club manager Frank Lampard created a shameful record as he lost all the six games since his return to Stamford Bridge.

The Blue Lions are now in twelfth place in the EPL standings with 39 points, confirmed to miss the top five at the end of this season.

It is not an exaggeration to say that the five times Premier League winner would be relegated after next month, as they are only nine points ahead of number 18’s Nottingham Forest.

The London giant was apparently unable to turn their players’ values into a performance they deserved. The club owner Todd Boehly spent approximately a billion Pounds this season to upgrade his squad.

Lampard will certainly leave Stamford Bridge this summer, while Mauricio Pochettino is the hottest candidate to take over the manager job next season.

Upcoming: Man City Vs West Ham, Brighton Vs United

Meanwhile, Manchester City will reclaim the throne from Arsenal by beating West Ham United at Etihad Stadium tonight.

The Blue Moons super forward Erling Haaland pursues another score to break the goal record of a player in a Premier League season.

Manchester United faces a tough battle by visiting Brighton and Hove Albion, in the races for top three and top five each other.

The Red Devils will rise to third place by hunting the Seagulls down, while the home team could advance to sixth with three points.
