LONDON – The English Premier League season 2022/23 is running on a tight schedule, as matchday 34 will continue this weekend after last gameweek finished this Thursday.
The EPL has only five matchdays left, the contest of the winner, the battle of top four and the fight for relegation are getting intense and exciting.
On Sunday, Manchester United will meet Aston Villa at Old Trafford, another hard game to compete for top three in the EPL table.
The Red Devils are now in fourth place with 60 points, two points behind Newcastle but one game yet to play, giving them an advantage to surpass the Magpies with a victory this weekend.
However, the visitors are expected to challenge the home team in a tough way.
The Villans have stayed unbeaten in their last ten league matches, including eight wins and two draws, and are now in sixth place, holding a chance to play in the European competitions next season.
City seeks 3 points from Fulham
On the same day, Manchester City expects an easy win over Fulham at Craven Cottage.
The Blue Moons are now in second place, two points behind Arsenal but two games yet to play, meaning that they will rise to number one by defeating the Farmers.
Pep Guardiola’s squad will be confirmed to retain the EPL title by winning six out of seven remaining league matches this season.
Race to top five: Liverpool Vs Tottenham
Meanwhile, the clash between Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur will be focused as well, as both teams are in the contest of top five in the Premier League standings.
The Reds are now in seventh place with 53 points, one point behind number five’s Spurs but one game yet to play.
Jurgen Klopp’s squad is the favoured side as they hailed three consecutive wins, while Tottenham is in a struggling condition, unable to win in their last three matches, including a 2-2 draw against Manchester United this Thursday.
London derby: Arsenal Vs Chelsea
On next Tuesday night, another battle of the giants will be performed between two London clubs.
Arsenal will face Chelsea at Emirates Stadium, the current league leader aims three points from the visitors who were in a disastrous predicament recently.
The Gunners still stand an opportunity to hail the EPL trophy by putting all their effort into the rest of this season.
The Blue Lions are deeply suffering starting this year, they lost six games and drew twice in their last eight matches.
Chelsea club manager Frank Lampard lost all the five games since his return to Stamford Bridge three weeks ago.
Tottenham draw with Man United
In a focused EPL match this Thursday, Tottenham Hotspur drew 2-2 against Manchester United at home, to rise to fifth place by overtaking Aston Villa.
The Red Devils led 2-0 in the second half with goals from Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford, but scores from Pedro Porro and Son Heung-Min helped the Spurs to collect a precious point.
Poor defence from the visiting team gives their head coach Erik ten Hag a troublesome issue, not just wasting a victory last night, also making his squad unconfident and unstable in their remaining matches this season.
