Lionel Messi Reported to Leave PSG Next Summer

Lionel Messi Reported to Leave PSG Next SummerPARIS – Argentina football legend Lionel Messi is reported to leave French giant club Paris Saint-Germain after this season.

According to European media, the 35 years old superstar is planning to reject another contract from PSG next summer, which offers him to continue his service in French Ligue 1.

As Media reported, there is a possibility that Lionel Messi will return to Spanish club Barcelona, where he rose to fame and won many club titles and individual awards.

New 1+1 Offer From PSG

Spanish media said that PSG had prepared a new contract for the seven times Ballon d’Or awards winner, which maintains his annual salary worth 30 million Euro.

The new contract will serve as “1+1”, where he should stay for at least one more year, while another year is optional. Messi’s current deal will end in June 2023.

The Argentinian team captain joined the French club last season, and had outstanding performances this season, contributing six goals and eight assists in eleven matches.

The Conflict with Mbappe

There are wide rumours and a lot of media reports regarding the conflict between Messi and the PSG top player Kylian Mbappe.

Among the PSG Super Trio, Messi is having a great friendship with Brazilian Neymar, however, the discord between him and the French striker had been rumoured for quite a while since he joined Paris.

Mbappe is reported as not being cooperative with Messi during the match, not just unwilling to pass and assist the Argentinian, but also showing disrespect to the football phenomenon.

Analysts and media claimed that, with the unpeaceful relationships between the three superstars, PSG could find it hard to bring themselves to a higher status, including winning their first UEFA Champions League title.

Barcelona Wants Messi Back for Free

Meanwhile, as the media reported, Barcelona is hoping to invite Messi back to them for free.

Barcelona has been struggling with their financial issue, with a debt of millions of Euro, making them unable to pay the high transfer fees, not to mention the expensive salary of the football icon.

However, the Spanish club management still expects Messi to return to them next season, with their bond as he has served Barca for 21 years since he was in his youth career.

Besides, Barcelona is reported to plan a trade with PSG, to exchange Messi with their currently first striker Robert Lewandowski.

The Poland forward who had joined Barca before this season might be in favour of the French giant, to solve their issue as they lack a central striker.

Lewandowsksi maintained his top performance this season by scoring eight goals in six matches, but rumours said that he is unhappy in Spain, while missing his old club Bayern Munich.

Therefore, a trade between these two legendary players might be a chance for both clubs to form a more peaceful and perfect squad.
