LONDON – The English Premier League season 2022/23 completed matchday 21 during Chinese New Year.
In the most focused game, Arsenal beat Manchester United 3-2 at Emirates Stadium, getting their fourth victory in the last five EPL matches and continuing to lead the standings with 50 points.
With double scores from young striker Eddie Nketiah, including a sudden kill in the 90th minute, the Gunners succeed to avenge the Red Devils, which they lost 1-3 at Old Trafford last September, as well as their only defeat this season.
The absence of Casemiro makes United fight with difficulty without the Brazilian defending midfielder, ending with conceding three goals although they scored twice.
After the remarkable win, the Red London is now five points ahead of Manchester City with one game less to play, having a bright advantage in the race for the EPL title this season.
Haaland Kills Wolves
In another Premier League match played by a Manchester club, the Cities easily collected three points by defeating Wolverhampton 3-0 at Etihad Stadium.
Erling Haaland again proved that he is the most fiery centre-forward worldwide nowadays, with a hat-trick in the 40th, 50th and 54th minutes.
This is the fourth hat-trick from the Norwegian in this EPL season, the fastest to achieve this in the league history as in only 19 appearances.
The number 9 has scored 25 goals in this season of Premier League so far, having a large opportunity to break the record of Alan Shearer, who made 34 goals in the entire season 1994/95.
Liverpool – Chelsea Draw
In another clash of the giants involving the Big Six, Liverpool and Chelsea could only gain one point each with a goalless draw at Anfield Stadium.
Both clubs’ new signed strikers Cody Gakpo and Mykhailo Mudryk were unable to make a goal, especially Mudryk who wasted a few great chances in his debut.
After the match, the Reds and the Blue Lions are in ninth and tenth place with 29 points, while Liverpool has one game less to play.
Meanwhile, Newcastle hold the third place after a 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace in the away game.
The Magpies now have 39 points, the same as Manchester United but with a better goal advantage.
Tottenham Hotspur maintain the fifth place after a 1-0 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage, thanks to the deciding goal from Harry Kane.

The EPL matchday 22 will continue from 3rd to 5th February.
The focused match will be the clash between Tottenham and Manchester City in the upcoming Sunday.
Meanwhile, Everton will face Arsenal on Saturday, Manchester United meet Crystal Palace and Wolverhampton against Liverpool.
The soonest game will be Chelsea meeting Fulham at Stamford Bridge this Friday night.
Other than this, the EFL Cup or Carabao Cup semi finals’ second leg will be played on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Newcastle will face Southampton with an aggregate 1-0, while Man United play against Nottingham Forest after their 3-0 win in the first leg.
